Local links: Some of our Cubs go on to join Boy Scout Troop 945, which meets Monday nights at the Damascus Izaak Walton League. Others join Boy Scout Troop 445, which meets Thursday nights at the Damascus thrift shop. Still others join Boy Scout Troop 1397, which meets Tuesday nights at the Damascus American Legion hall. Our neighbors, packs 1438 (Woodfield Elementary) and 945 (Rockwell Elementary), need to update their web sites more often. Another neighboring pack is 1199, in Germantown, Md. Most of our boys attend Damascus Elementary School An overview of Damascus, Maryland The annual Celebrate Damascus parade is in July The annual Damascus Fair is in September Some of our boys also learn karate at Ruyter's Academy of Martial Arts in Damascus. The best thing about Damascus is the Jimmie Cone! The second best is New York J&P Pizza. We live about twenty minutes' drive from the Monocacy National Battlefield
